bastards and thingys

Post by charlie » 09 May 2008

bsatards bit

went to have me xm injectors looked at and the first bunch of tossers said three need a recon, £25 each, and the pulsar one is knackered thats another £95

ohhh and hmm i went

soooo went of to the lucas people, and he pulled a face at the snipped wire for the pulsar one, only way i could get it off i said,

but all 4 were ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its just all too easy to get ripped off by some bunch of fuckin bastards

thingy bit

anyways fitting them back on the car was trying to remember whether the two side feed thingys on the injectors have a specific in and out

or do they just connect to each other with the plastic hose thing

mind you if someone could tell me what the fuck the thingy thngs are there for would be nice

ta

:D If you mean the two little spouts either side of the main feed, they are the return fuel pipes. Dependent on how fast/ slow you are going, you may or may not be using all the fuel supplied to the injector.
Looking at the engine And.....the cam belt being on your left.....the far end
thingy should have a plastic /rubber cap on it. all the other thingies are then looped together....the last one (nearest the cambelt)...connects to the tank return pipe err I think. :P

PS You`ll need a new set of fire washers fitting as you put the injectors back!!!!!!!

Theres a good chance dependant on age that the leak off/overspill outlets from the injectors infact join into a little canister in between the No2 and No3 injector. If they do, re plumb it the way phil says as those canisters can oftern leak air in with only bad starting as the give away. It is diesel right?

got fire washers with the head gasket kit that i brought, so there fitted 8)

figured out the looping pipe bit already ta

and no cannisters they just connect to one another till the last one ta again :)

soooooo as long as the return fuel thingys on the injectors DONT have a specified in and out then everythings kooouuuool

:D :D You`re dead right there Doc. I for one would like to see those replacement strut tops in position.

What were the like to fit Charlie? :?

Vanny, that was why I put err I think at the end of my post..I seem to remember that little tank thingy on an engine once....but there isn`t one on my BX. It was at least 10 years ago, so may be on a mark 1?

The cannister became common after about '92 I think.
As far as I know the D12 didn't have them, I've never seen one with a cannister..

Come on Charles, it's been ages since you've posted some piccies.....

that makes so much sense now

Haynes manuals are written in canine thats why I have never understood a word they say
Light travels quicker than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
