Are all BX plips that shit?

By the time I'd got it to work yesterday, holding it right next to the window, aiming directly at the cocking sensor, I could've used the bloddy key. Not my idea of remote locking  :P Need thee a new battery, praps Stu?

Oddly, it seems to work best when aimed into the car from the boot - which is when you really need it. Something that's always annoyed me about the BX design, having no keyhole in the boot means you've always got to walk around to the driver's door once you've unloaded the car.
Cheers,
Stu

The range does shorten considerably at batteries life end. :(

Top Tip:
These button cells are on a mixed card sold at Poundland (£1)!
10 of the right type on the card, and at three batteries per fill thats 3 fills! :D

That's just 33p to rejuvenate your plip each time even if you don't find a use for the other types of battery! 8)

There WAS a BX which had a lock in the bootlid, but I can't remember what it was. I have a feeling it might have been a 14 or 16 leader. Almost certainly the base model which was just badged BX (not BX14E, or anything else, just BX) would have had it. I'm going to look for a lock like that, for my trailer project. I've already got a lock barrel for the boot, but no lock to put it in....

Yes, similar to what you are considering, but I want to use an estate car as the base, and see if a peugeot 405 rear subframe would fit under a BX, so you could have a handbrake acting on the back wheels.

This is all conjecture at the moment....

405 rear beam wont fit without mods. C15 rear beam will. This sounds like a vapour build to me! And i have the half car, welder and the plate is ordered, so me thinks i shall win this vapour build by a considerable margin!

To be perfectly honest, there are more important things to be getting on with at the moment.....like the building, which is falling down!

The building at the farm where the doc, and I house all our shit! I was leaning against a wall there on saturday, and there was a gust of wind, and the wall moved!!!

It was windy that day, but niether Chris nor I want the barn to collapse on top of our cars, no matter what state of dis-repair they might be in!
