Tick,Tick
Help .....advice needed .....
My tzd has started ticking from what I assume to be the height corrector [near to the accumulator?/front sphere? thingy].
I only noticed it yesterday, whilst driving with the roof open & all the windows down.
It seems to be ticking every 1 to 3 seconds.
As far as I can ascertain,I'm not losing any LHM.
1. Is it a sign of imminent failure.
2. What will happen when/if it eventually fails.
3. Is it dangerous. [ie,should I stop driving the car until I've had fixed]
4. Is it a tricky job for a mechanical numpty [like myself]
All advice gratefully taken on board.
Cheers guys.
Tel.

Not the height corrector dude.
That'll be the pressure regulator ticking in and out.
Start the car, let the suspension build uop to normal ride height then switch engine off.
Now wander round the back of the car and sit in the boot, the back of the car should drop then lift again.
If it doesn't then the accumulator sphere is fucked.
which is in all likelyhood exactley what it is, a fucked sphere.
Dangerous? No, not really, the car should be fine to drive.

Hi Doc .......It's never done that in the 4 & 1/2 years I've owned it.docchevron1472 wrote:Start the car, let the suspension build uop to normal ride height then switch engine off.

I had four new speres fitted two years ago .....I never gave the accumalator a second thought [and the dozy cnut who did the job never mentioned it either ......btw , £20 per shere,or £25 each fitted ........I thought "Oh bollox,it aint worth me fcukin' about for the sake of £20" ... ]
Thinking about it ......I know whats finally fcuked it up .....
Last w/end .............I had my trailer behind it. I stopped the car, turned off the engine, wound the trailer up onto the jockey wheel and uncoupled the towball ....... .........the car went down with a right bang ... ......I reckon thats fcuked it up completely then.
Ho-hum .........by the sound of things .......it was well bolloxed anyway.
Cheers Doc

Yeah Tel. It ticks even when it`s new, but they are so far apart you can hardly notice. When it`s down to a few secs it`s gotta go.
