No photo's again, since I dont appear to be able to upload them from the puter at the mo...

Anyway, the subframe went back in Thursday, shiny new fuel pipes were fitted, the splitter front pipe went on, new fuel pump and plenty of welding / painting underneath, and the net result is a car that has rear hydraulics again....

Getting it up, letting it down, ooh thats twice!

Just might have it finished by the end of next week after all!

:D :D That motor is looking uber kool mate, it`ll last a lot longer than the original by the look of it. I`m trying to organise some tax and insurance for my BX in time for the national. Up to now the best I have got is £175.
This includes up to 1500 miles of use!!!! What`s the date ?

I`m taking my machine over to Vanny`s tomorrow night. I`m still suffering from slow speed and freezing. Those bastards at aol sent me a download that should cure all ill`s.. but I got the same message.... cannot complete download as my system, something o other, basically, my system wasn`t good enuff. Well I`ve nothing stored on it, it`s only a year old with a gazillion megathingies and a dual wotzit processor..

Fuckin useless cunts the lot of them... if you ask me....an they`re still cunts even if you didn`t .....there you`ve got me goin now  :P

So thats AoL and BT Yahoo, both cunts!

£175 aint bad dude, thats a shit load less than I'm paying for either of mine!

Er, the national is 11th - 13th July this year I do rightley believe....

If I fit more RAM to the puter, is it really as easy as just plugging it in? Or do I have to do shit to the machine to get it to see it's there??

 Fucked if I know mate, if it aint got knuts bolts and washers......err ......!
I know you can fit a lot bigger hard drive......but it depends if the mutha
will agree with your motherboard....well sort of....that`s what I heard

New RAM will just plug in and the computer should recognise it all being well. Make sure you get the right type for your machine and as big a size as you can afford per each extra slot. Then you should find all tasks whizz along much faster! :D

I can dig it, I say hey sky, s'other say I wan say, pray to J I did the same ole same ole....

Shiiiiiiiiiiit.

The hard drive is mahoosive, there's well over 90Gb's of porn statshed away on it, plus all the car shit, and there's loads left, but the ram thing is irritating...
Where's the scouse git when you need him?

Sorry mate, I was posting the same time!

Er, so as such there's no upper limit on the amount I can throw in?
I think RAM chipsets are still quite cheap, so I'll get a shite load!

:? :? Strangely the Vanster has vanished !!!! Last I heard yesterday he was venturing into a supermarket with his other 1/2...... since then ....nothing. His phone is on voicemail and he`s not answering pm`s.

He was going over to his parents house across the water....perhaps no phones or tinternet?

Yes, there will be a maximum for the computer.

To make it simple, say the maximum memory for the computer is 1GB and you have 4 slots then you can put 256MB into each slot. If the maximum memory for the computer is 4GB and you have 4 slots then you can put 1GB into each slot. In the latter example if the computer came with 512MB of RAM, your maximum would be 3.5GB unless you removed your original 512MB and replaced it with 1GB.

If you 'escape' out of the boot sequence at the start it should tell you on the screen about your system & motherboard, how many memory slots and what's in them. Also check your manual if you have it to hand as this also will tell you the compatible memory type you need to purchase.

phff, been returning your calls and you've not been picking up!

Been pissing about aimlessly with the car all day. Fat lot of good that did me, god none of the jobs i needed doing done :(

on the memory front, your on XP right, wouldnt bother pushing past 2gb tbh (it will only recognise upto three, less your graphics card) make sure that the replacement mem is the fastest for your board and that they are matching pairs. Ye's there drop in upgrades, but only if you drop in the right shit.

Fucking hell this is all rather starting to sound rather complicated!

Yep, still on XP, it'll be a cold day in hell before I get Vista.

Erm, hhmm.....arse, ok, hows about next time I come up I just bring the PC, you look at it, tell me what I need, we go to puter shop and buy said?

That'll probably be an arm & a leg there, best prices on-line unless there's something I don't know about Vanny's computer shop.

There's 1 GB of memory on offer from Play.com at present (seems cheap memory is a speciality), so if it's the compatible type then a good deal at £16.99 postage paid:

Computer Memory 1GB PC3200 DDR 400Mhz 184pin DIMM | Computing
£16.99 Free Delivery | You Save £23.00 (57%)

In stock | Usually dispatched within 24 hours

8) 8) For memory on a stick (no you can`t lick it) Staples are offering 2 gig for £9...... has anybody seen less?? :D

best prices are not always online. Whats more there are a number of what i can only describe as 'computer factors' round here that are cheaper than online. Better still by buying from a shop you can take it back if it doesn't work.

Realistically, its an older motherboard so 400mhz may not fit. More over there will be 4 slots so your better off with 4x512mb memory as smaller block sizes are faster. Dont bother arguing, they are, regardless of what it says on the tin!

Anyways, i've got a decent amount of kit in stock at the moment, so i'm sure we can build something out of that. New free everything has got to be better than any shop or supplier!

True, but I did say each time that compatibility must be checked!

Well, if it's the right stuff (& legal  ), an alternative case can't reasonably be argued here. 8)
