Driveshafts - new apparently

Post by Bx Bandit » 14 Aug 2010

Picked up an ebay bargain - or so I thought. Long story short is that they are recon, not new as advertised. GKN units so I thought they'd be sooper dooper.

Only, there is play/back lash in both outer CVJs. There is less play on the Xantia 2.1 shafts after 160K. I assumed that any back lash, if at all, would be barely noticeable when new and just as tight as re-con units.

Can someone put me straight here.

Should there be any backlash in NEW CVJs?
As above but Re-con untis?

My opinion is no or bare noticable.

there will always be some backlash, even in new, but it should be barely perceptable.

Sounds like you've bought a pup, negative feedback!

I've started a 'resolution' thing yesterday, but he's still not responded.

linky

There was a matching n/s one as well. On one of them, there are several hammer/bruise marks where it's been belted in the past (big sledgehammer by the looks - one of your Doc?!  ) so clearly not new!

He's been in touch now and will accept returns - he needs to pay the initial and return postage though.

Fiat related? Jeez, give up the mushrooms Doc! Well, you've used it as an adjective, and that's how it should stay. So, some kind of rip off dude or similar, maybe abbreviated to Cinter, with a hard C?

my mate Mike did lots of acid, clever fucker he was too.
I remember walking home form the pub one night and he grabbed a lamp post, would not let go of that fucker for shit. The crocodiles were trying to eat him apparently.. at that time he touched the stuff for a few years... scary shit.

 'Pushing paint back up a wall....' classic.

My very close equivalent is the tiles 'melting' in a hotel toilet whilst my mate was in the bath. I think I may of even had a shit whilst he was in the bath...........

It's bad too often though, not that I've done often at all, twice or three times, but I can see how people get fucked up on it - it re-wires your head. And that's mushrooms, I've never done acid, like you say Doc it's scary shit really. Is Mike ok now or is he fucked?
