I think the TXD has more basic interior, no splitter and no spoiler...

I have a TZD lined up down Merthyr T, might borrow you to have a squiz round it Bandit...

:? Well my TXD is a 19 n/a. That would make it ...err.... different.

The TXD also has keep fit rear windows, whereas the TZD has leccy all round, and the door / bonnet / boot open thingy..

and electric mirror(s)

mirror.
Only the valver / GTi 8V had leccy both sides, and even then the drivers side was optional on GTi's..

Notice the bit that made it plural was in brackets?
Is the wiring in the doors though?

Erm, all my GTi 8v's (E reg on) have had electric mirrors on both sides switchable by the inconvenient panel on the lower dash. :?

Never had the electric bonnet opener of which you speak but do have an underbonnet glow-worm. :)

W2G, I think you have mis-understood. Chris was talking about the electronic map next to the coin tray, that tells you if the doors/ bonnet/ boot are open.

Ah yes, I took him to mean the electric locks on doors and boot. Understand now, not sure what you call it on Cits but a term used elsewhere is 'mimic diagram' . :D

That car looks like a good-un, as long as the floor is not missing...

And mine! 8) Although my modified standard switch has failed (bizarrely the switch is different between twin leccy mirror cars and the rest). I've put in an XM switch but the switch action is back to front in one orientation. Not a big deal since I rarely move them once set up.

Smiffy, the wiring is present but needs modification - if you simply plug in a driver's mirror it will move in exactly the same way, at the same time as the passenger one! My guess this is so that part of the loom would be the same on RHD and LHD cars, them could just put in the relevant electric mirror without any other mods.

/\ Maybe that's cos of the un-twin mirror switch? I must admit, I didn't know there were two types of switch?! I've also been tempted to change my drivers side to leccy, but I kinda like the manual in a way [chin]

Anyways, what's this TZD in Tydfil Jay? What's the plan mofo?

Nope, the wiring from the original switch splits into 2 behind the glovebox and then goes to each mirror. Can't remember what happens if you mod the wiring and keep the original switch though.

I think I have a brand new drivers electric mirror somewhere, I've been planning to fit it as the heated bit doesn't work in mine. It's not been a pressing issue as I don't have the heated mirror wiring, and I don't think I'll ever get round to it...

the loom was standard fitment, hence went to both doors, the switch was bridged out to by pass the side selector switch since if it only has one mirror you dont actually need the switch. I guess it was cheaper to bridge the switch than make another switch..

According to the 1990 brouchure drivers side leccy was optional on everything bar the valver.

Even P1 valvers had manualdrivers mirrors..
