MOT beckons, big hole found, new job looms
Posted: 17 Mar 2015
The MOT is due by the weekend, the house has been bedlam and i really wanted to get the brake valve changed before the MOT. Well, the brake valve has been changed, but in the process of shredding my hands and a copious amount of swearing, I noticed a rust bubble . . .
Water bottle out from the driver side and I find this mess;
And from the underside, it's certainly close enough to the suspension turret to be an MOT fail, no 8" measure required here! The paint and stone chip are doing a valiant effort of holding things together though;
Having a quick dig about, followed by a longer dig about and fortunately the most of the rust is in a single panel which is spotted into place with a small bit missing in the suspension turret.
All in all an easy job, that's if i can make enough time before the weekend given that I finish my current job this week and work is ongoing in the house for multiple viewings at the weekend. Well, if your going to make life difficult on your self . . .
