One of the boot hinges off my mums AX snapped off qhuite some time ago, father dearest is nagging for me to get it sorted, reckon i can weld it back on with an arc welder, but have never welded to an actual car before so am a little concerned to say the least!

Ok, (Trying to be serious)
Arc welding is a piece of piss. Just REALLY REALLY boring, like going to the laundrette with your gran when you'd rather be at "Mick's" the corner shop buying porn...

Anyhow, get two bits of steel, and practice before going near the car.
AX's are made from sheese, so you wont need MASSIVE amounts of current.
It's a fine line between getting good penetration and blowing fucking huge holes in it.

Make sure theres plenty of Argon / Co2 mix, and dont crank the wire speed up that high.

Since I'm about to spend the next eleventy billion years welding up my valver, Tim's valver and several random old crappy buses, if you wana drive the bugger to Stroud I'll do it for ya.
Alternatively I'll do a "how to not set fire to your car with a MiG" thread?

Oh, and dont forget to disconnect the battery before cracking an arc!

By far and away the easiest way to weld anything to anything else is with a Mig mate. Mig's are the choice of champions.

Actually, and I really shit you not, Smiffys sis is better looking than that.
I have no idea why it went so wrong with Smiffy! You'd never believe the lovliness that is his sis is related to JD!
