Page load & response

Post by Way2go » 13 Nov 2007

Dunno what's going on with JKW and this FCF fiasco but the operation of the BXC site is very shaky with long page loads, time outs etc, just as if theres no upload/download pipe size. It's becoming painful to visit there at all.

Response on BXP on the other hand is excellent with almost instantaneous response! :D Well done Vanny! 8) Just what is the problem over there I wonder :?

(PS: Did you notice Marty acknowledge the Log-in problem on BXC that we've had to live with for years?)

I've found BXC painful for aong time, and not just because of the unbearably slow running forum.

But yeah, this bandwidth problem should have been sorted ages ago.....

i cant think its simply down to bandwidth, i reckon its mostly the server. I don't know where its held anymore but i reckon if its slow to load bxc then it will be painful for others sharing the same server and will end up getting switched off!

Switched off..now that would be a shame........ [drool]

I've had really wierd log in issues there since FCF went down.
Page 4 of the billy / doc story took me best part of an hour to type, hit submit, bastard thing threw me out, and wouldn't let me log back in at all...
Most of the time I'm already logged on, but now and then it'll take 5 or 6 goes to log in.
Piece of shit computers...

not sure if my log in soap box is ongoing now, but john did a software update about 6 months ago and after that it wasn't working too badly! I felt vindicated in that the software upgrade sorted a fault and thus it really was a fault and not just in my imagination as i was told by the admin!

he was saying that the BXC was 'THE BX forum', and it is, it is a more encompassing forum which allows any idiot on and is thus good for the marque and the machine. I an't educating everyone about here as this place is exclusive!

Still no word on progress on the BXC website despite the appalling page load times and faulty loads.

If you ask as to progress as I and the FCF refugees have then this is met with no response whatsoever. Are they actually doing anything at all ?

Do you think if I went to read Jon's blog this would reveal anything useful in the progress of the bloody server and hosting? Nah - it's obviously a secret!

moment of glory could come about here!

1) anonymously setup new Xantia Club forum (thus stealing all the loyal Xantai listeners from the FCF
2) give it six months
3) by which time the fcf wont be inhabitted anymore
4) switch it off

Hurrah, all the xantia owners lost in the ether, and one in the eye for JKW :D
