Dismantled BX seat squab

Post by Vanny » 11 Jun 2012

A few months back now I acquired a Citroen BX 16v Recaro style front seat. With the added thigh support, lumbar support and rib support, it makes for a fantastically comfortable place from which to play Gran Tourismo 5.

The only problem with it was the thick layer of filth over the whole thing. Cue some A-Team style dismantling of the seat to separate the fabric allowing it to be bunged in the wash on a 40c cycle

Ever wondered what a dismantled BX seat squab looks like?

Wonder no more!

I've discovered I had never seen a clean BX 16v seat squab before, and i didn't realise what a nice shade of blue they where! Sitting in this seat does make me think how much comfort im missing out on in the BX with leather seats!

I'm sure you'll have a bit of interest if you sell the leather! Personally I like the slidiness and smell of the leather, and in terms of comfort find it the same as the TZD Turbo interior. Never done many miles on a any other seats to compare.

I really should wash mine at some point, they are entirely black now...
Agreed though, the Monza / Le Mans seats are far more comfortable than the leather GTi seats... I do often wonder why I have leather in mine, I much prefer Monza seats... but the leather does look nicer!

Chris ,I thought you kept the leather as a constant reminder of when the cows attacked your car !!!

nah mate, it just looks good in the car, more so because the car is black I think... but it's hot in the summer, cold in the winter and throw the car into a bend you fuck off out of it!

the plan, at some point, is to get a proper seat re trimmed, and it seems we have contact with a trim company at work, so i might have to chase it up next year.
