Re: So here you all are.
The name-change from Personnel to Human Resources many moons ago was a big give-away, given what's normally done to "resources". Best of luck, Phil.

They've just made our entire HR department redundant.
You shouldn't have any issues with your skillz though Phil. Good luck mate.

Re: So here you all are.
I've been really touched today. as I've been on my visits, I have been letting them know someone else will be taking over in June. The reactions have been err embarassing, the first 4 were going to ring my boss and declare him a wanker. I explained that he wasn't that good really but to leave it for now as he may have done me a favour.
Yeah. Personnel was for people. Human Resources are err what's the words...............
A FUCKING MANAGEMENT TOOL!!!!!!!!! Well something like that anyhoose

Sorry to hear your news Phil, bit of a kick in the bolx I guess but companies is all about money - they just want a youth from poland to pay £2.34 per day and take it up the shitter as he goes! Do check out those offers mate....don't go and work in B&Q - you'll suggest some way-hay too cleverly tech solutions for the numpties that frequent.
....There he goes, one of God's own prototypes, a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production......too weird too live.....and too rare to die

Re: So here you all are.
Checked out the new "age" law, last night. Complete and utter waste of a clean pair of underpants,
There is a process by which they ask you if you want to work past 65, between 6 and 12 month before your birthday.
You then have to respond at least 4 months before. They then have to call you in for a meeting to hear your case for working past 65.
They then tell you of their decision, if it's no, under the law, they do not even have to give you a reason.
So ! what was the point........completely meaningless
The only "teeth" it has is, if they dont do this process and then tell you to piss off and die at 65, they have to pay you 8 weeks wages set at £320/week which comes to a little over 1/2 my wages.... fucking big deal

B & Q ? They at least seem to value experience rather than employ all spotty herberts with no idea WTF to do or inded what a torbeck valve is when you ask them for one - unlike the local Homebase...
