Talking of buses, I picked up a book for 50p in a 2nd hand shop, on the history of buses in uk. Starting with the earliest Daimlers, it Seems quite comprehensive, with plenty of photo's.

Actually Jay, myself and Smiffy are taking the oilypan down to Penzance in April for a running day. The running day is on the Sunday, but we are coming down on the Saturday, so we shant be far away!

no no, that was all tory, and should have been a good thing, had the likes of Stagecoach, First and Arriva not been allowed to get so big.

It actually didn't turn out so bad up here. GMPTE, pretty much controlled what went on, Stagecoach is not here, Arriva, and First have a share, but we have about 6 small local companies also delivering a service with only some duplication of routes.
s***h Lancs travel and Blue bus being the most prolific.

germpty, be greater manchester passenger transport authority who was responsible for running all bus, tram, train services. They didn't fade into the background like in other parts of the country, but organised the resultant chaos and, more importantly, issue my bus pass.
