well project shed is going well, walls and ceiling now plasterboarded , holes filled and joints taped.

I am going to use lining paper and then wall paper to finish off so I need to know , do I seal the plastreboard with a pva mix before using lining paper , I'm guessing a 5 to 1 mix would be about right if I do need to seal the plasterboard.

any thoughts ?

What sort of plasterboard, and what brand, there is a hell of a variety! I'm betting its Gyproc green label, 8mm? In which case its paper lined. I'm not sure what a pva coat would actually achieve? Normally you would PVA plaster to stop it absorbing any paint/wall paper you would put near it. It it is paper lined plasterboard then it will absorb a LOT of water/pva before it seals. Frankly my dear i havent a clue, so one served me brandy and it's all i can smell.

I'd have used 8mm MDF and painted the hell out of it , you'll get a bloody neat finish and if you paint it enough it wont cock up the first time it smells moisture.

Should be OK if it's the foil-backed premium variety. Otherwise you could be right!

As to sealing the front, using standard cellulose wall-paper paste (Polycell or Solvite) as size and letting it dry thoroughly should be sufficient before papering proper.

You only really need to use a PVA slurry if you are tiling over plasterboard Mickey.
As already said solvite will do. 2 coats if it's 9 mil one coat for 6 mil. any paper or emulsion will go on nicely after that

I assume you did insulate as intended earlier??

yes there is dpm between the walls and the insulating material likewise the roof ( which is also insulated )and floor.
finish isnt fantastic close up, used plasterboard jointing tape before the lining paper which has caused a couple of creases here and there but overall quite pleased, the shed is for my 16 1/2 year old son who wants a bit of independence and somewhere quiet to study before he joins the marines.
he's having his first night out there tonight so will see how it goes.
I will eventually either replace the door or line it on the inside to help further insulate it.

Great job Mickey, I'll bet he's well made up with it.
I've done a couple of those boarded doors. Just put insulation between but cut the crossmembers 1/2" short at either side. This so you can put a fillet round the edge.
This makes the door much more solid and allows a rubber pressure seal all round.

You could probably do with one of those ventilators fitting in the door too, to stop condensation.

Those oil filled rads are ace Mickey.
My daughter over in Sweden has one, in my roof space bedroom. It's about 3 meters square, with a pent roof but the rad is only about 600 square by about 25 thick. With it set on 4 (out of 6) it keeps the room at +20, when it's -20 outside.

Sounds like you may have a new round of "toilet training" then to embark on with the lad.
