XM temp gauge

Post by stu » 18 Feb 2008

The temperature on the XM has been reading low for a while. It seemed to be accurate as it would still rise when sitting in traffic, and the fans would cut in at the correct point on the gauge, so I decided the thermostat needed replacing and did so this weekend.

Now, the gauge doesn't rise at all. Zero reading. Not a sausage. Anyone know where the sensor is located? Or maybe there's wiring that runs near the 'stat, which I might have dislodged when working on that?
Cheers,
Stu

Have you bled ALL the air out of it? if there is no water in the thrmostat housing due to an air lock, then the temp gauge won't rise. The importance of careful, and complete bleeding of the water system after it has been disturbed can't be over stressed!!

/\ what he said,
although if you're sure it's bled then it's moe than likely the temp sensor connector has been disturbed..

From memory, it looks like it should be a two pin connector but is actually only one.
They have a habit of corroding, probably just needs a nudge.
It'll either be light blue, or white.
