Collecting new toy this weekend!
Although it was a financial decision to get rid of the XM in favour of another BX, I'm really quite excited about picking up my new car at the weekend.
The extra money I will have to spend on beer will be nice too - insurance payments £25/month rather than £50 and a TZD Turbo should easily achieve 45-50 mpg rather than the XM's actually-not-that-shabby 32.
The hydraulic leak on the new car will need fixing, but unless I'm extremely lucky I doubt I'll manage that on the day - most likely course of action will be to get it recovered back home to Lewes and sort it out at my leisure.

Well, despite the problems, I'm still enthusiastic about the car! It's clean, shiny, everything works and it's had a truly astonishing amount of money spent on it over the years.
David came down to sort things out for me, and was able to patch the LHM leak enough to get home, spraying the stuff all over Surrey and Sussex. I didn't quite use this much.
Back home, we bought a length of hose from my local motor factor and David fixed the leak properly; the car was now LHM-tight and looking good!
Then of course the problems started again, with a split radiator hose. Fortunately I was able to reach a Halfords to buy some hose and jubilee clips and fix it up! It was the least accessible of the two hoses on top of the oil filter housing so I'm now nicely scratched and bruised from guddling about down there, but the car is now watertight too.
Despite the problems, I'm loving it! It will cost a lot less to run than the XM and it's noticeably faster into the bargain The break is so much more useful than the hatch. Great stuff.

"MORE POWER"....
Bout 135BHP seems to be the limit of power versus reliability with the limitations of the head.
