And Viola;

Big question, barge boards, on top or below the edges, in my mind they should go on top, but that means they are very loosely supported unless i cut the over hang right down. Have stuck a couple uderneath at the moment to see how it looks (cock is the answer) and the one above the window is more for structure than looks.

Generally though, not a bad job, including removing the old panels its taken about 5 hours to get that far!

Will post a 'before' pic at some point!

oh fuck me its bolted down, theres a good 60+ TEKS into the 3mm angle underneath, individual panels are stitched every 18" , edges are tied into the wooden end pieces where possible. The finishing should be on the edges though, no? perhaps i'll find a piccie

Barge boards are for barges so I'm told :) I buleve what you are on about are Soffits.
These go against the walls covering the gap between the top of the wall and your new roof.

That's why I originally suggested raising you roof frame if you needed to then covering the gap with these.
If my memory serves me, your roof slopes down towardsyou (from where your piccy is taken)

You need to fit brackets onto the board and put a gutter and drainpipe on.this will stop splattering water everywhere when it rains
and would also fill a waterbutt to be eco friendly when you do all your gardening :P 8)

hmm, okay then, i might get some pic just to show what i was thinking off mind. Gutter is a given, i hope to score that froma skip sometime ( i've had a LOT of guttering from skips that was perfectly fine) and i dont envisage a water butt, more as a retail feature than something i would use, cant be arse with gardening. Water butts i can get delivered for £25 ish throught he council so no problem there!

Tell you what though, even at night it is reasonably bright in there!

Just need a new door and window now! Oh and a used oil side heater!

  I was winding you up about the water butt :P can't see you doing much gardening somehow.

A little electric fan heater hits the spot better

I used to just empty on the garden, then the whole house started sliding down the hill, I shit you not!
Thats why I had to move...

Anyway, I reckon in years to come when theres no fossil fuel left there will be a fucking oil Derrik in my garden!

These days I burn it, and pretty much anything else that will burn in the furnace!
Kills the cows (really) but it does get rid of a vast amount of shite!

Our tip has an old oil collection point....furkin great plastic container shaped like the 5 litre ones you buy your new oil in

For wood burning stoves you can buy pellets to burn..... Soaked in old engine oil they last much longer....

I leave all this smoke & co2 shit to the people who buy new cars, cuz every time they do so, they just add to the 'global ' bullshit. I (and we) have tiny little co2 factories that add fuck all to the cause (if indeed there is one)

Best not eh, I hear that's illegal, and immoral.

Besides, I LOVE cows, especially between two sheets of pastry, with lots of gravy!
