Parts and paint
Well I went up to Rigbye's this morning to get some bitz and paint for K39.
The good news is, the paint is still available, but the bad is, some colours are not.
I also asked him to check on any stock of BX parts he has that he wants to dispose of, so I will post if he comes up with anything

Re: Parts and paint
Well you always have to "turn away" if your a bit err Pink.
I don't need pink but true red as mine has not faded anywhere. Mind you, it has always been garaged up to the last couple of years
I'm only using it on non visible areas where I've done minor repairs and the sill tops where they have become scuffed.
Yes I am that fussy. It should sell better if it's concourse.

Re: Parts and paint
My EJX coded colour arrived today. It came with clear laquer to apply after painting which I thought a bit odd.
The full code as on inner wing is EJXMR. The MR seems to have been dropped (if it was part of the code) and it's name has gone fron Venetian red to Furio????
However I just tried it on the btm lip of the front bumper and it looks a decent match.
I'll see what it looks like in sunlight, in the a.m.

Re: Parts and paint
the paint code is EJX, the shade is MR (in your case) which from what i can tell means the square route of fuck all.
And i thought the paint name was Rogue Furio anyways?

Re: Parts and paint
I thought you just typed it wrong.
It really is a perfect match.
I got 2 small spray cans and a little brush and bottle, Bandit and it cost me £28
Looks like I will need another spray
I took the bumpers off,( to see what lurked beneath) cleaned an painted them. Then I fitted 2 driving lamps and the air dam spoiler to the front. They literally look new now.
The only problems I found were a torn bellows on the N/S rear suspension cylinder and I have a new one spare. And the rad fan frame was broken and the fan sticking. Fortunately I had a spare unit which I cleaned and tested and fitted.
Have had the bumper grill H/lamps and F/ wing inserts off to check all the under metalwork and it's all like new. It was really well waxed when new, I just cleaned away all the accumulated shit and re waxoyled it before replacing everything.
This is going to be the nearest anyone will get to a new BX when it's done.
I'll try to get some pics together.

Err they were just ....spray cans TBH, Citroen ones with the code and a cap in the colour.
Those really small ones about 4" high
Do you need a new frame? Can supply
Thanks anyway BanditFortunately I had a spare unit which I cleaned and tested and fitted.
Found my first bit of rust today. Strangely it was under the airbox support plate, on the flat bit behind the N/S headlight. It's not in a structural position and is only about 4" x 3/4", but has taken the captive nut that fastens down the support plate. So I cut a bit of plate and welded a nut to it then welded it in. It's about the only spot missed by the original wax
