It's gonna take a while before mine can be driven again, it needs a new clutch, driveshafts, engine mounts, fan wiring, engine wiring, and a spray job!!!

Yes.

One minor problem at the moment is this:

Image

Head gasket on the van, which is my only real towing vehicle. Head is away being skimmed at the moment, and the whole thing should be back together (weather permitting) within the next few days. Then it needs an MOT.

Any ho who claims access is a problem is just simply making excuses

it is really chilly outside at the moment. It's just above freezing point, and a bit windy, so everything is SO BASTARD COLD!

When it's minus 5, it actually doesn't feel as cold. I'm sure that's because the air is absolutely dry (no humidity) and usually dead still. I'd much rather it was like that than two degrees above, high humidity and windy.

It would be nice to say something like "at least I can do stuff quickly as I now have a selection of air tools", but as anyone who has used them knows, when you use airtools, they go cold from the expanding air. Very comfortable in summer, but so cold at this time of year that I loose all the feeling in my fingers. I want the van back on the road, but I also don't want frostbitten fingers.

... but yes, access to just about anything on that van is fan-bloody-tastic. I've yet to have to jack it up to do anything as I can just roll underneath it. Likewise the engine bay. 4 bolts, some wiring and the radiator hoses, and the entire front end comes off. Access is brilliant. I wish the CX was as easy!

There are limits to everything!

When you realise that the spanner you were using has frozen itself to your hand, you know it's getting a bit chilly, and possibly time to stop!
