What was next to the cup on the roof, was the camera case! err, no wellies in the boot, and the sheep were on the mountain to the right of the car in the picture.

Tiz a most lovely part of the world there,

spent a good portion of my life in Snowdonia, and while its nice, there are way better places in this country to spend time in. Snowdonia used to be much better but now there are WAY too many southern townies clogging up the roads, and old people (who thanks to modern technology will never die) desperatly trying to hold traction while taking corners at 8 mph.

Try going in the off season in shite weather, then its much better, no fucking tourists!

I can understand that. I've never lived in a tourist trap and I happen to be a tourist when we go on hols and I often feel a tad guilty going round some of the smaller villages/country areas...having said that if I get evils from any local I just pump up the volume and drive like a lunatic

Funily enough, I think I would have enjoyed it better if it were pissing down, and blowing a gail!
I'd like to re-visit the place, as at that time I still smoked like a chimney, and couldn't make it to the top of the mountain.
The youth hostel was till good though...

:lol::lol::lol:

dont think it's anything serious, it wont start, so it clearly has an elctriky issue, somewhere, but since I aint had time to look at it and smaffy's fingers do not make for a good multineter then it'll remain dead for now I guess...

I'm fucked off with electrickery! The car is at that annoying stage where it nearly starts, and coughs, but doesn't actually catch.
The car shows all the signs of wanting to turn into a money pit, and I'm not having that!
I've given up with it, and hopefully will be buying a diesel next week.

:D :D :D Nah he`s got some brains at last. 16v`s look great, but, I mean.....petrol engines.........uneconomical.....inefficient.. things of the past. Just wonder how I could fit a 1.6 HDI into a valver. For everyday use, 110 bhp is perfectly adequate, but the exhaust is at the front??? :(

The 140bhp 2-0 version would give some excitement and the exhaust is the right way round :P

1.6 HDi 16v can be made to give in the realms of 140bhp, and i reckon with the aditional torque it should be able to catch up to the 16v

and it will fit

or at least studying the enigne in my dads picasso it will fit :D

I would have thought they will all fit, as they all decend from the XU series don't they?

The downpipe issue shouldn't be that difficult to solve, use part of the down pipe from the HDi, and splice it.

I think the diesel car will pay for itself quite quickly, (free fuel)....

I agree!
On the plus side, I get a well tidy set of bumpers already in the correct colour for mine!

No doubt though I can make the car work within 5 minutes.

A good 16v is not all that thirsty if you dont nail it everywhere. The drawback to that is they want to be nailed everywhere.
And they sound soo good doing it too, and a diesel will never sound as cool as a valver giving it beans.
Infact when Matthew burns his latest vid to disc I'll whap it on the tube of U, then you can all hear the best D6C ever.

He's already made an audio of the vid so Smiffy can play it in his diesel, with enough volume he can reminise about the good days!

Nah, I like the sound of the CX, when giving it much concrete right foot, as the turbo spins up, followed by the front wheels as they scramble for traction....

But for the most spine chilling satisfying noise EVER, you just can't beat this,
Turn up your speakers.....
