this looks fun as well
To test engine components:
Don't use this if you don't know what you are doing!!
1. Be sure ignition is turned off.
2. Close the switch
3. Turn on ignition
4. Within 1-12 seconds open the switch again
5. Wait some seconds
6. First code 91 will appear. Meaning the fuel pump will be activated periodically.
7. Close the switch for 3-5 seconds to test the next component.
8. Repeat until you arrived at the component which you want to test.
To tune the engine ecu:
Don't use this if you don't know what you are doing!! (I never tried it, so I don't guarantee it will
work. It should work however on a Fenix 3B ecu (3.0 V6-12)
1. Be sure ignition is turned off.
2. Close the switch
3. Turn on ignition
4. Within 1-12 seconds open the switch again
5. Within 3 seconds close the switch again for 3-5 seconds.
6. Open the switch for 3 seconds (5 max)
7. Close the switch again for 3-5 seconds.
8. Open the switch again.
9. The ECU should indicate code 22 by blinking. Meaning program start.
10. Enter code 2 by means of close 5 secs, open 3 secs, close 5 secs, open again.
11. The ECU will return 12 by blinking. Meaning 4 degrees ignition advance.
12. Close switch for 10-20 seconds. ECU will indicate code 11, meaning 2 degrees earlier.
Regretfully I don't have more data on this.

Ahhhhh.
Bummer, you have the later Diag socket.
Er, no, the blink code will not work on that.
Or rather, the dash light cannot be used to read the blink codes.
DO NOT try the method above.
You'll need a proper reader for that.

Erm, you'll need something like the Proxia to read the ECU properly. blink codes are FTL on newer stuff mores the pity.

Thanks Doc, sanity at last. I will purchase one directly.
Big hug next time we meet, IN A DEEP VOICED MANLY WAY you understand
Dereks EM light is on permanently....got it checked all it said was throttle potentiometer, then in brackets ...wire "B". as though it was of paramount importance....bleeding thing has been on for 6 months with no ill effects.
The self retracting door mirror on drivers side has suddenly decided to retract forwards occasionally...this is on mine. I`ve no idea whether these magic machines can diagnose these Citroenesque foibels

modern cars are a pain in the arse ,
my trajet can go into safe mode ( automatic third gear ) for no reason whatsoever , stop , turn off , turn on , restart and eveythings back to normal .
and whenever I have to jump start it the air bag light comes on and has to be reset

Light travels quicker than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Er, Phil, Proxia's are a LOAD of money. Like, ALOT!
I keep nicking the ELIT and Proxia from 2CV's so I dont have to actually pay for one!
Wire B will be the resistance wire, so it's finding a fault with the readings from the pot. That said, it's unlikely to be the wire itself, almost certainly the pot itself is a bit tired. We do loads of them down the garage.
Althoughas you rightly say, even in limp home (pre-mapped) settings, you're hard pressed to tell the difference!
As for the mirrors, a Proxia probably would read any stored faults with them actually, it does everything else and then some.
I'm rather guessing the car is too young to be running Comms2000?
That really was utter garbage.
You're not wrong Mick, all the elctronic shite in cars now is just an utter arse.
Fine when it all works, but the number of software issues that never get resolved leave alot to be desired.
Even my VERY basic ECU on the valver is giving me headaches right now, something at least I need not worry about in the uber basic diesel!
