Drive shaft oil seal

Post by Vanny » 12 Aug 2008

COCK (can you see this is going well?)

Got the shaft out without a problem (even the hub nut came off without too much drama!), caught all the gear oil without loosing any (which at first look is disgusting), pulled the old leaking seal out no problems. Went to put the replacement seal in, and its not even close! Looks right but needs to go for a very hot wash for a few hours and shrink about 15%!

BALLS

So, panic stricken, i start calling around. my local factors S&N Motors can't even get one let alone have one in stock, this is the first time they've failed me ever (they are also on eBay). Decide to cut my losses and call the Citroen dealer. Gives me the part number, tells me they are in stock, so i ask if he can deliver to the Peugeot dealer in the village (same dealership). Turns out the pug dealer has two in stock! Get in!

Oh i'd also like to point out that i paid £10.46 for a part Citroen would have charged £7.95. Proof again that Peugeot's are nothing but trouble!
