Indeed. I agree.

The sax is a very versatile instrument of much sexiness.
I prefer it used in free jazz than pop stuff, but I've always loved Baker Street, fucking good song that.

Clever lyrically aswell.

Aint listened to Placebo for yonks!
Whilst the song itself was quite weak, I fucking loved the loop riffing on Pure Morning.

Although I made the mistake of bringing the TD home after a stay at the farm for a few weeks.
The stereo in it has decided that it'll chop the sound after a random amount of time.
You can turn it off and on again, and it'll work perfectley, until it shuts down for the rest of the day.
Hopefully there's a another head unit on the bay!
I fucking hate driving without music.

I'm hoping my lack of tunage will be short lived!
Found a Sony XR-C5120R on the bay, £25 BIN with £7 postage.
Bit of a bitch about the 8 business days to deliver though... was rather hoping to have it by the weekend, since I've got to go to Redruth Sunday arvo...

8) I like that stuff Mickey, the other's not bad Vanny just a bit samey.

I had Classic fm on the other day; there was a track on of a 4 voice chior singing err ecclesiastical music, I suppose you'd call it, unaccompanied, with this guy playing Sax sort of making it up as he went along.Dunno what it was called but it was very effective 8)

More of a jazz / blues man really 8)

That'd be Jan Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble - he's a Norwegian jazz player, they are "early music" people - the fairly well-known album they did together about 10 years ago is called "Officium" (I think).

Used to love a rather wacky album of his from the 70s called "Dis" with a jazz guitarist called Ralph Towner and a "wind harp" on several tracks. This is not as sordid as it sounds, it's something that creates a drone sound when put outdoors and the breeze vibrates the strings...

I do tend to like my music weird and wonderful though.

Used to play the saxophone myself, first Tenor then Alto, but it's a real bugger to find somewhere to practice.

I only have a cheapo Aria acoustic guitar nowadays and an 80s Roland digital synth, which my left hand runs out of keys on the bottom end of as it's not a full-size keyboard. I've come close to selling it recently. However, the reduced keyboard means it does fit in the boot of a BX, not that I've played with anyone else for yonks.

Hmm... now what would the band be called? Could be a long thread ....

When I was in school, our band started off as solilaqy (sp) but had it not all gone tits up I really liked the idea of naming ourselves "Generation Terrorists", which is a rip off of the Manics First album, but a fuckng cool name I thought.

:D Wow thats a coincidence Doc. I 8) was involved with a band nearly 50 years ago. I can't play anything but had a couple of certificates for writing the stuff.
The band folded after a couple of months but they were called "Urbane Terror"
