Spare carpet but wrong colour! Fortunately the seatbelt was the same though.

Phil, if I had any water next to me I would have drunk it or poured it over myself, I was absolutely cooked. Still, it beats the rain I suppose!

Looking back at the last picture I'm suddenly stuck by how the place is starting to look a little like a scrapyard. All it needs is a car on top of another and we'll have Snowdonia National Park people round to complain we are spoiling the landscape!

Note the 205 in the way as I lost the keys a few weeks back and all we can do is roll it backwards and forwards.

STILL not found the keys then, me thinks its time for a new set of locks!

:lol: Hope not!
There must be a key eating monster around as Lana lost the keys to the Disco last night. She's had to take today off work! We do have a spare set, but I can't get the fob (which operates the immobiliser) to synchronise with the car. Should have sorted that out sooner (or obtained the emergency access code), such is the wisdom of hindsight...

Think you're right Vanny, at least then all the locks will match which they don't at the moment (assuming you usually get the ignition lock as part of the same set). Or if I can find a scrapper with a set of keys?

eBlag or 205GTiDrivers are your best bet for a lock set. Some lock sets come WITH and some come WITHOUT the ignition barrel. But you might as well just get a second hand set. I'm pretty sure the BX sets DON'T fit the pugs, certainly the ignition barrel doesn't

I think the door locks do, but you're right about the ignition.

If it helps Matt, i've got a spare set of BX door (and ignition) locks here if you want me to chuck them in the post?

Cheers mate but don't worry about it, I'd want them all to be the same if possible. I've seen a full set on ebay for under £50 so a second hand set should be cheaper still. The one on ebay doesn't come with a petrol cap lock, which if I was a dodgy seller wouldn't be a problem until the new owner got some distance away. But it would be a little mean to do such a thing...

While we're on the subject; the fob on the BX disintegrated about a year ago and I put it somewhere safe....so safe I can't find it. :(
Is there any easy way of getting another??????????????

So after a few weeks of getting a bit intense with the car, there has been some progress.
This is how it currently looks;

I've also gone over some of the seams;

And, erm, patched the scuttle;

And added a new firewall lining;

So, what's the likelihood of it making Gaydon then? Or perhaps Stratford?

Re: Wings

at the moment, Zero chance of Gaydon, 30% chance of stratford. Mostly due to lack of time, on holiday next week, and my coolant hoses are in China!

Why did you send them to China?!

Re: Wings

:) Coz instead of going down to his local Hosetech ( or similar )He's probably ordered some new ones from the quality specialists in China :roll:

Re: Wings

Hosetech (or similar) make pipes to length, not to shape.

Stuff made to spec and design, and by hand, in China is often very very good. These aren't mass produced parts. And having already seen the finished quality, i'd say there where better than anyone in this country would bother to do.

Re: Wings

:) They also make (At extra cost) flexible ones that bend where you want (silicone and mesh) Hosetech say they last forever, but I suppose that depends on your interpretation of forever. :lol:
I've thought of making a set using smaller bore dural tube and a bunch of elbows, but I never got round to measuring up and making a drawing [chin] [chin] [chin] [chin]

Edit:- I suppose I should look at plastic tube really ..., see if push ins work at 100 + 8)

Re: Wings

problem is they will have minimum radius on the bends to stop the pipe collapsing (or because of the wall strength), which again makes them not fit for purpose, and the reason so many companies exist that will wrap self amalgamating silicone/rubber arround a mandrel for you.

Had confirmation tonight that i wont be seeing my hoses or replacement hoses anytime soon, and i know i don't have enough spares to make a set!

I *may* be able to furnish you with pipes.. I have few keft though, after a complete set, including several replacement pipes went walkies with Smiffy's valver.

Whats need number 1?

Re: Wings

I'll get the pipes back Docco, just not in time for the national, and i no longer have time to get pipes and get the car through MOT so its a bit of a mute point.

Re: Wings

:P Is that a silent point or an actual moot point??? :? :lol:

Re: Wings

Perhaps, but isn't 'moot' a term for meeting? Stupid phrase.
