BXC seems cursed with being less than stable and to go through "rocky" patches! [rage]

webfusion is cheap as chips for a reason!

Like Streamline and many others i have tried over the years. If you want stability then you have to pay, unfortunately for FCF its rather large. I suspect BXC could quite happily sit on its own, but that would then double the work for the admin.

I still have a spare SQL server with my hosting which i really should do something with.

Thats the main issue really, it's not so much BXC making it all fall apart, it's being tagged to FCF that causes the grief, I think..
FCF is fairly epic, especially compared to a little site like BXC, but there's not a lot anyone can do about that, it's intrinsically linked to FCF so I think er'll just have to accept that from time to time it's going to have the odd issue..

When was that then? Must have missed it...

There's some kind of irony that BXC keeps falling over, almost as many times as one of its moderators at a BXP meet!

Surely it would be easy to reinstate you over there if you ever wanted Marty?
I'm sure even I could manage that!

Vanny, BXC and FCF are owned by the same dude, and share the server, unless we like, bought it from Jim or something, then it'll always be a part and parcel of FCF..
Not that I'm fussed about that, it pays for itself via the members, and whilst I dont know the ratio of who pays what from each side I suspect that BXC *might* actually be subsidising FCF a bit, but either way, it works so why fuck about with it?
Other than the server issues right now, it's still better than the screen of snow froma couple of years back..
