Seems he's already migrated it to Xac's Server away from Webfusion on Sunday.

It's working now so he's done well to take effective and decisive action so quickly.

Xac's has also been given admin rights so that should ease the load on Jim.

That said, Jim is away right now, with limited internet, and sitting exams and shit.

So normal (!) service should resume next week..
On the linky page he put up he mentioned about being patient with web hoster, personally, I think he should ditch them and go elsewhere. Of course, it may not be that simple, but I think he's stuck with them long enough and been hauled through the bushes enough times to justify the move.

I'm surprised more have journeyed in this direction yet!

Thankfully this site runs on top dollar servers, but is small enough not to cost the earth. So far while its been on oneandone its had one outtage as a result of a digger going through all the magic pipes.

Well, we've had lots of guests on again! Like, 7 last night whilst I was on at 0100 or whatever time it was.

I really have no idea whats going on now, it's down again at the mo, I dont know if Xac's server is a permenant thing, or whether it's til Jim can sort out Webfusion or something else, or if there's another plan in the pipeline or what.

No idea.
Ho hum.
Never mind, BXP keeps going regardless..

i have notcied if you access through http://bxclub.co.uk you get an instant error 400, yet if you add WWW, ie HTTP://www.bxclub.co.uk then you have to wait and get a different error, very strange.

Oh yey, the cookie settings seem to be buggered on BXC and now i can't log in. If i try it creates a cookie for http://bxclub.co.uk, but since that URL doesn't work the cookie is dismissed! I think an admin needs to review the settings.

How strange. Previously, despite having ticked 'remember me' when I navigated to BXC it would never log me in automatically, I had to click on 'Log in to read my messages' where it would log me in without asking for user name/password, and navigate to the front page (not messages).

Since the move to Xac's it works as it should :D

its down to the cookies.

If you used to access through www.bxclub.co.uk/forum and thus it remembered your log in details, then i guess you should be okay. But if you used to access through bxclub.co.uk/forum and your settings where remembered, then your now fucked. I suspect a flushing of cookies would solve the issue, or better still delete the BXCLUB cookie from your cache. Generally though BXClub cookies have never ever worked quite right, and i believe many times Jon tried to sort them out.

Glad it's sorted. I agree with you there seems to be a problem though - if I try and log in from a different PC, then the first time of logging in doesn't work. The second time will be sucessful, but the 'new posts' icons will not be present.

again, cookies, this is the original problem which JonKW did manage to fix. The work around is not to log in regular, but use the 'Log in to view private messages' link, then you dont loose track of what you have and havent seen.
