OK, so........

Post by Stinkwheel(Matt) » 13 Jan 2010

Im thinking about 16valves again cos' of this place. Dammit.

Whats a rough one go for these days? TBH i had a quick look on 16v.co.uk and they seem to have dropped in value from a couple of years back, which is odd as there must be fewer left.

Anyone actually got a rough ish or cheap ish one going?

Id like a project 16v whilst i drive this St Tropez i reckon.
OK, so i've got some stuff, some of it goes, some of it doesnt, some of it never will again!

I know where there might be 3 in various states, the prices haven't changed just people have become a little more realistic. But really, do you need one? Have you the time and the money?

i will be looking soon i reckon. Need, no.

I dont need 3 bikes and 6 cars i have. but liquidating a couple should free the funds required to sort out a project one.

But basically i want to know what a project or ropey runner will cost at the moment.

hmmmm, postage would be handy

Thats more reasonable than i thought to be honest. I think moving one MOT'd 2CV would be enough to buy and sort out nicely money wise, as it should release about 1100 quid.

Any of the ones you know in the midlands?

yep, all three of them. One Mk2 very very late one with cat and lots of cosmetic blems, probably one of if not THE last RHD 16v to role off the line. And two Mk1's one in near immaculate condition that might not sell and one which would be a good project, drives well just needs tidying really.

was that red one a Ph1 Doc? I thought it was a Ph2?

Ive had a black ph1 with aircon F500 MOD and when i sold it i immediately wished i hadnt and a silver ph1 that i bought for 50p and needed just an MOT test.

Then that red one, which i was SURE was ph2. Am i mis remembering?

Yep. that very engine is now nestled in Jazz, doing a whooping 0 miles per annum!

Actually the onlt part of that car that doesn't still exost is the windscreen and the shell.
Every single other bit lives on, in about 32 BX's...

A fair chunk of it is parked out front now actually!
The boot, doors, front wings, body kit and most of the loom is now on the TD, and at some point soon the rear beam will be hoofed on to it aswell.

At £10 i'd be very tempted myself, just no where to put it at the moment. Well worth it i reckon, not a lot to go wrong on them

£10 to buy the heater isn't the issue.

... it's the £60 bottle of propane it will munch every day if you try hard!
... all landings are in fact controlled crashes, and any crash you can walk away from is a good landing. The definition of a good pilot is a man with the same number of landings as take-offs.
