They used to do an electrophoretic paint to stop electrolysis between two dissimilar metals.
Like when you had aly trim round wheelarches (I know, it's a long time ago)

They used to remove it, doing what you are doing. never heard of it as a rust shifter though!

Git.
It's a lot more solid now than it was I'll have you know! But it's getting into the seams that's difficult. I have managed to get in with a fine wire brush till they are shiny, and then an acid rust converter to get even further in. That has worked for a couple of years now without coming back through, but I've still got t'other side to do...

You don't need to wire brush that hard actually mat. A quick rub and bang any loose stuff off, then on with the Kurust. A good coat of that then a good etching primer and it will last you forevah................

...............Well, a long time anyway

Why not, most people think we are a bunch of wangers anyway
Light travels quicker than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

You can't play that in China. There are so many wongs and wangs you would always get the wong number. [coat]
