Turning the corner

Felt a bit better about things tonight - went out and had a few drinks, the first time I've actually felt like doing anything after recent events. (On the scale of things it was 2 bottles worth, a good deal less than Stratford 2009).

Ended up at a nearby pub where they were doing karaoke, I got up to get another drink and the next thing I know the bloke has spotted me and dragged me up for a sing (for only the second time in my life, and considerably more sober than the first!) Anyway, it went OK and 2 people in the pub said I sang well and should be on stage (although they neglected to mention exactly what kind of stage...)

Still feeling miserable if I stop and think about things, but better than I was.

thats good news mate, it's still very early days, and it's ok to grieve, infact you'd be inhuman not to.

Small steps mate.

One thing a pretty crap time in my life taught me a few years back was, its always OK to grieve and show people how upset you are. Thats the only way to get over things mate.

It will come and go in waves mate. As the wind drops so will the waves.

Sorry to hear you lost a trusty companion, Matt - but congratulations on managing to use the juice positively rather than getting maudlin on it. Time heals.

I've never been one for getting depressed drunk - in fact that was the first time I felt like having a drink since it happened. Perhaps because I subconsciously associate alcohol with good times it didn't feel right to have a drink any earlier?

You associate alchohol with things? What things do you actually remember after your third bottle?

Now you've got me wondering... would it be an easy operation? Obviously I'd like to keep my original set up as well, but an auxiliary one might interest a certain class of lady. [chin]

I dunno really, imagine it's doable, but I've long since discovered the best thing to do is buy her a vibrator, that way she gets the pleasure and I get to fuck off down the pub!
