Re: David Rutherford's Operation Garage Clearance

Post by mnde » 13 Jun 2011

It's a big ask I know... is anyone able to collect a non-starting GSA from Nyland this week, to a safe place, as a contingency measure? I thought arrangements had been sorted between David and Chris Salter for a recovery by David R to a garage in Waterlooville, Hants (a small one-man operation), but an urgent phonecall to me at 7:45 am from David, after he'd set off with the car on a trailer, suggested there's been a mis-communication/assumption somewhere along the line.... because the garage owner says he's not going to be at the garage until mid week and there's nowhere to leave the car. So David has had to take it back to Nyland... etc etc.....

So
a) it won't start (stale petrol, 3 years off road)
b) it's a CMatic
c) it's got no MOT or tax
d) it's got spacers in the suspension keeping it up to help it onto a trailer.
e) David's under pressure from his landlord etc etc

Worst case scenario: if nothing else can be organised this week - can anyone help? I was hoping it wouldn't come to this... :(

Cheers,

Mark.

Sorry, I don't want to make this someone else's problem. I hope we can reach a mutually satisfactory solution to getting the car recovered.
