Clutch...

Post by jayw » 06 Jul 2011

Wth the exception of the release bearing, is there any difference between the BE1 clutch kit and the BE3 clutch kit?

Been offered a cheap clutch for pre '90 (ie. BE1) car and i have a spare BE3 bearing... = win?

Assuming they are both PUSH clutches, remembering the BE3 comes in both PULL and PUSH varieties, and the 'finger' plate for these will not be compatible. I much prefer the PULL clutch as IMHO they last much longer!

The one i've been offered is listed as BX 1.7/1.9D 1984-1989... any indication?

It's only the Xantias and that era that had the push clutch IIRC.
