The P76 and the Kimberly. Puke!
The TorOnado (I'm a clever sod and can spell its name right,) was front wheel drive and , er, interesting in its road manners.
Boat tail Riv? maybe. My only direct experience of yank tin was the pair of Caddies I had lent to me for a year; an '83 Eldo coupe, white, black glass and so bad that my local copper asked me what I did if I ran out of coke. "See those carpets?" I answered, indicating the inch thick blue shag-pile. "I hoover them." The other one was an '84 Fleetwood Brougham. Seven and a bit litres and fitted with an MPG meter that I could get to go 13-11-8-5-3-2-0 when putting a foot down. I know it was American gallons but it used to impress the passengers no end. I've never driven anything with so much "Look at me" and I'd have another one tomorrow. Tasteless, brakeless, thirsty and a chore to drive but so completely OTT I could even forgive it for not being a Cadillac Calais.

evidentally the word toronado has no real meaning.

Re: The begining of the end?
Style icons they may have been but apart from the Grandad shit to drive.
Depending on which series you were watching the earlier ones would have been the 3-0 litre V6.
The 2-8 came later.
Mickey He will be good if he can get that thing running on more than 5
If we're going to 60's cars that SS had me drooling. The 71 Victor FD I had was designed off that, It had 4 different sized slant 4 engines, 16 18 20 and 2300cc all from the same block.
That was 1/2 the 4600 smallblock V8 in the Camaro.

My dad had a Victor FE, I think it was the 1.8 but it may have been the 1.6, I was uber young at the time, but I remember the looks of that car with great fondness.
It actually reminds me of a mini '71 Riv as it goes!
It would have to be a Shadow I mate, WTF was with the rubbery looking shitarse bumpers on the II?David wrote:Shadow, or Shadow II ?
BUT, I would stuff the steering rack from a Shadow II in it, since the box in the I was a bit vague.
That said, I'm erring more and more towards the Riv.
I've wanted one since I was a kid, and the urge is getting strong!
