more head scratchin news

just had a conversation about the pump with a firm called city electro here in cardiff

he seemed to know about the lucas epic, he even asked me what model i had 1,2 or three

said that it didnt have a bolt on stop solenoid but something called an activator

which is buried in the pump

he talked about the housing wearing, then the pressure when the engine is switch off would bypass the activator hence my overrun

he also said that the pump/ecu would need to be reprogrammed

how much i ask

£500

:shock::shock::shock:

I didn't know there was 1,2 or 3 types...I wonder what the differences are?? either fix any other probs, mot it and flog it or look for a replacement pump off a scrappy praps? That's a tough call mate and I don't envy your position on this one. Sounds harsh but maybe scrap the motor, keep the wheels and leather and find another one to transplant your bits into....

Ahhh, now this I didn't know!
I know the EPIC was remapped and reworked very late in the production run of the S2 XM but had no idea they reworked it THAT much..

You could of course throw the EPIC in the bin and wham a Bosch mechanical pump on?

Or buy this one...there's lots of information/history about it. I think it's the engine size you require :roll:
